True Self Online Therapy

Discover Your True Self

At any time in your life, you may realize that therapy is needed to improve your relationship to yourself and to your loved ones. With over 25 years of experience, I work with adults struggling with unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety, aging issues, relationship challenges, grief and loss, and life transitions.

In practice, I will work with you to identify patterns that are interfering with daily living and collaborate on finding new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Whether you've experienced therapy before or are completely new, I welcome you to my practice will support you and assist you in building resiliency to help navigate present and future challenges.

"Some changes look negative on the surface but you soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge."

Therapy With Dorothy

I'm Dorothy Hanson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State, a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a United States Air Force Veteran, a wife, a mother, a lover of animals, and an unabashed Country Line Dancer.

As a guide,  I help you to understand and unlearn the patterns that are hurting your relationships, yourself and help you towards mindful living and self-acceptance.

Together we can work towards:

  • Withdrawal and avoidance to healthy communication and presence

  • Self-defeating behaviors to self-empowering choices

  • Unresolved traumatic reactions to healthy self-regulation and connection

  • Negative self-talk to a positive relationship to self

  • Putting others first to putting yourself first through healthy boundary setting.

  • Replacing unhelpful beliefs about yourself with ones that are self-accepting and self-affirming.

My approach is centered around the belief that change happens from the inside out. By accessing and healing your protective and wounded inner parts, your True Self can come out in the form of confidence, calm, compassion, courage, creativity clarity, curiosity, and connectedness.
